Source for the scale figures, which ACLED reports over two different windows and which this note keeps distinct: 'Between 24 May and 22 August, ACLED records more than 10,600 demonstration events across the country', of which 'over 10,100 ... — or nearly 95% — involve peaceful protesters'; and separately, 'Between 26 May ... and 22 August, ACLED records over 7,750 demonstrations linked to the BLM movement across more than 2,440 locations in all 50 states and Washington, DC'. A superseded note attached the 2,440-location figure to the 10,600 total and gave a single 26 May start date for both.
