Donald Trump posted on Truth Social denying any connection to Project 2025, stating “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have not seen it, have no idea who is in charge of it, and, unlike our very well received Republican Platform, had nothing to do with it.”
The 900-page policy blueprint, developed by the Heritage Foundation and conservative groups, proposed major federal government overhauls and expanded presidential authority. Despite 140 former Trump administration officials contributing to the project, Trump called some ideas “absolutely ridiculous and abysmal.”
Campaign leadership reinforced the distance, with campaign chiefs Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita stating Project 2025 “had nothing to do with the campaign” and “should not be associated with the campaign or the President in any way.”
