Flagged for Review

This page should probably not exist in this collection, and is flagged for a scope decision. The previous version consisted almost entirely of an unsourced thesis about Nickelodeon’s role in American “political socialization” — that its programming “conveys implicit political and social messages,” that “early exposure to diversity and social themes influences adult political attitudes,” that shows “depict children challenging adult authority, promoting independence and questioning,” and that the network’s audiences were shaped generation by generation. None of it was attributable to any source, and none of it is the kind of documented fact this project publishes. It has all been removed.

What remains is a children’s entertainment network with no established connection to American political discourse or media politics beyond ownership by a company that also owns CBS News. Unless a specific, sourceable link is established — a documented election-programming strand, a regulatory matter, a role in a timeline event — the page’s subject falls outside the collection’s stated scope, and it should be deleted rather than maintained as a stub. See reports/citations/media.md.

Sourcing Note

Removed as unsourceable: the founded: 1979 value; the reach line “80+ million U.S. households”; the Nick News run dates and Peabody attribution; the “Kids Pick the President” mock elections and the claim that they “often accurately predict[] actual results”; the 9/11 special programming; the educational partnerships and “government initiatives” section; and an unattributed criticism section citing “parents groups” and unnamed “creator controversies.”
