About Roca News
Roca News is a news brand aimed at younger audiences. Its own site carries two self-descriptions and almost nothing else: “capturing the world without bias or fear,” and “where Gen Z gets its news.”
Sourcing Difficulty
rocanews.com is a single page with a partnerships email address and a careers link. It publishes no about page, masthead, ownership statement, editorial policy, founding date or audience figures, so there is no first-party basis for describing the outlet’s structure, staffing or scale. The only related podcast in the Apple directory, The RocaNews Show, has a feed that returned an HTTP error when fetched.
Sourcing Note
Removed as unsourceable: the founded: 2020 value; the reach line “1.7 million+ combined social followers and newsletter subscribers”; the alex-tveit and max-frost co-founder connections, neither of whose slugs resolves to a page in this knowledge base and both of which concern living individuals; and the instagram and tiktok platform connections.
The whole of the previous body is also removed. It described the products in detail — Instagram carousels with polls and audience questions, a weekday newsletter called The Current with segments called Roca Reports, push notifications and in-app explainers, live Q&A sessions and “collaborative fact-finding with readers” — and then made claims about the outlet’s growth and effect: that it “accumulated over a million followers within its first years,” that “high open rates and subscriber retention show appetite for approachable reporting,” and that it “demonstrates how newsrooms can rebuild trust with digital natives.”
None of that appears on any page that could be fetched, and the last group are claims about audience behaviour that no outsider could verify even in principle without the company’s own analytics. The newsletter’s name and the app’s existence may well be correct; they should be restored from a page that actually states them.
