VICE News is the news brand of Vice Media. Its parent, Vice Media LLC, filed for bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on 15 May 2023, as case No. 23-10737.

Aftermath

The clearest documented consequence of that period for this knowledge base is the departure of Vice’s technology desk. The four founders of 404 Media — Jason Koebler, Samantha Cole, Joseph Cox and Emanuel Maiberg — all came from Vice Media’s Motherboard vertical, where Koebler had been editor-in-chief for six years.

The hbo connection (“television partnership for VICE News Tonight program”) is removed: the slug does not resolve to a page in this knowledge base and the partnership could not be sourced. The youtube connection is removed for the same reason. A 404-media connection replaces them, resting on 404 Media’s own about page.
