Biography

Elise Stefanik served as U.S. representative for New York’s 21st Congressional District from 2015 to 2025. In November 2024, she was nominated as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and the Senate confirmed her in January 2025. She resigned her House seat upon confirmation.

Congressional Career

Stefanik entered Congress in 2015 at age 30, then the youngest woman ever elected to the House. She served on the House Armed Services and Intelligence Committees, where she focused on foreign policy and national security issues. In 2021 she succeeded Liz Cheney as House Republican Conference chair, overseeing Republican Party messaging and fundraising for the chamber.

Digital Strategy

During her time in Congress, Stefanik maintained an active content operation that combined floor speeches, cable interviews, and social media clips. Her staff repackaged committee hearings and press conferences into short videos for X, Facebook, and Instagram, while fundraising emails and text messages reinforced the same themes to reach small-dollar donors.

Relationship with Young Republican Organizers

Stefanik cultivated close ties with the New York State Young Republicans and endorsed Peter Giunta’s slate in the Young Republican National Federation leadership election. After Politico published racist messages from the group’s Telegram chat in October 2025, Stefanik publicly criticized the messages and called on those in leadership positions to step down.
