About 60 Minutes
60 Minutes is a weekly newsmagazine produced by CBS News. It is broadcast on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. ET on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, and full episodes are published as a podcast. A companion strand, 60 Minutes Overtime, carries additional material online.
The programme describes itself in its own feed as “the most successful broadcast in television history with more than 80 Emmys under its belt” — a claim it makes about itself and that is not independently checked here.
Litigation
On 31 October 2024 Donald J. Trump and Ronny Jackson filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas against CBS Broadcasting Inc., CBS Interactive Inc. and Paramount Global — Trump v. CBS Broadcasting Inc, No. 2:24-cv-00236, assigned to Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk and pleaded as a diversity tort action. The docket records the case as terminated on 25 July 2025. This page records the docket facts only; the terms on which the case ended are not published on the docket and are not asserted here.
Sourcing Note
The founded: 1968 value is removed — no fetchable first-party source states it — as is the reach line “7-10 million weekly viewers.”
Most of the previous version of this page has been removed as unsourceable. That includes the claims that the programme “pioneered long-form television investigative journalism,” that its interview style “became [a] template for television journalism,” that its stories “trigger congressional investigations or regulatory actions,” the Watergate-era account, the description of annual presidential interviews as a “political institution,” and an entire section of unattributed criticisms of the programme’s “fact-checking debates,” “editing practices” and “corporate pressure.” The previous account of the 2024 Kamala Harris interview and a “lawsuit settlement with Donald Trump” is replaced above by what the court docket actually records.
