September 2026 — Modpol 1.0
The first public release. Modern Politics is now open to read in full: the long-form story, the timeline, the entity directory, the network graph, and the statistics pages.
What 1.0 does and does not claim is stated up front rather than discovered later:
- The story and the statistics pages are written from named sources. Most encyclopedia entries are not yet cited, and say so. Methodology & Sources publishes the current coverage figures, counted from the project’s own files each time the site is built.
- Every page carries a review badge reporting how far it has got through the project’s automated review — and what that review does not do, which is verify claims against the documents they cite.
- Every page has a feedback button. It is the correction route, and it is the fastest way to get something fixed.
1.0 is a starting point, not a finished reference work. The largest known gap — citations on encyclopedia entries — is being closed section by section, and progress is visible on the page rather than described here.
2026 — Building the Record
The bulk of the site took shape over 2026: the long-form story and its bibliography, the timeline and the relationships behind the network graph, the statistics datasets, the review process and the badges that report it, and the feedback route for corrections.
September 2025 — Development Begins
Work on Modern Politics began with initial planning and infrastructure setup.
Updates are posted when something notable ships, not on a schedule. Questions about a change can go through the feedback button on any page.
