Adult Swim is a late-night animation and comedy block that shares a channel with Cartoon Network. Warner Bros. Discovery lists it among the U.S. general and lifestyle entertainment networks in its portfolio, alongside TNT, TBS, Turner Classic Movies, OWN, HGTV, Food Network, TLC and Discovery Channel. Its content is also distributed on HBO Max and at adultswim.com.

This page previously carried an unusual amount of specific, checkable detail and not one citation. That combination is the reason so much of it has been removed rather than reduced: each figure and date reads as verifiable, and none could be verified.

Removed as unsourceable: the founded: 2001 value and the launch date of 2 September 2001; the attribution of programming to Williams Street Productions; the reach line “131,000 primetime viewers (2026)”; the claim that “over 70% of viewership occurs via streaming devices”; the statement that the block “became a separate entity in Nielsen ratings data” in 2005; and the claim that it “set viewership records among men over 18 in 2005, 2006, and 2007.”

Removed as unsourceable and as characterizations the project does not assert: that its programming “shaped dominant models of online humor in the 2000s and 2010s”; that it “served as a shared cultural reference point across various online communities, including those that later developed political dimensions”; and that “the network’s comedy sensibility shared characteristics with content popular on 4chan and related platforms.”

The Million Dollar Extreme section has been removed in full. It carried the page’s most specific claims — a premiere on 5 August 2016, six episodes, cancellation on 5 December 2016, “network standards departments reportedly discover[ing] coded messages in show content,” a public dispute between Sam Hyde and Tim Heidecker, and Brett Gelman severing ties with the network — all concerning living private and semi-public individuals, and all published without a source. The word “reportedly,” with no report named, is the tell. This episode may well belong in this knowledge base, but only rebuilt from named contemporaneous reporting or first-party statements, and only saying what those sources say.

The warner-bros-discovery connection has been removed because no such page exists in this knowledge base; the ownership fact is stated in the body and sourced above.
