The Daily Wire is a media company. Its own about page states that it was “conceived by Ben Shapiro and Jeremy Boreing,” launched in 2015 in partnership with Caleb Robinson with an initial investment of $4.7 million by Farris Wilks, and that it “became cash flow positive” in its fourteenth month.

The Daily Wire, LLC is wholly owned by Bentkey Ventures, LLC — formerly Forward Publishing, LLC — which the company states “remains majority owned by the original co-founders.”

DailyWire+

DailyWire+ is the company’s subscription video-on-demand and podcast service. The company describes it as “an umbrella platform” covering The Daily Wire, The World of Jordan Peterson, PragerU, Movies and Bentkey. It states that the DailyWire+ Podcast Network is “America’s 6th largest podcast publisher” and names The Ben Shapiro Show, The Jordan B. Peterson Podcast, The Matt Walsh Show, The Michael Knowles Show and Morning Wire among its programmes.

Self-Description

The company states its own position plainly, and this page quotes rather than characterizes it: “The Daily Wire does not claim to be without bias. We’re opinionated, we’re noisy, and we’re having a good time.” It describes itself as “one of America’s fastest-growing media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment,” and as “a truly for-profit business with an emphasis on distribution and marketing” within what it calls “the right-of-center media landscape.”

The PragerU relationship is worth noting for this knowledge base, since PragerU has its own page here: a donor-funded nonprofit’s video library is distributed through a for-profit subscription service.
