About The Joe Rogan Experience
The Joe Rogan Experience is a long-form interview podcast hosted by the comedian Joe Rogan. Its own feed dates episode #1, with Brian Redban, to 24 December 2009, and carried 2,744 items as of 1 September 2026, the most recent numbered #2547.
Format
Episodes are conversational interviews, published as audio and as corresponding video. In Spotify’s 2024 interview with him, Rogan described the show’s characteristic length as a deliberate choice: “I think podcasting is an art form and I definitely sucked at it when I first started… I didn’t know when to shut up and listen.” Spotify’s 2020 announcement described the show’s subject range as “neuroscience, sports, comedy, health, infectious disease, and our ever-changing culture.”
Spotify Licensing
Spotify announced a multi-year exclusive licensing deal on 19 May 2020, under which the show remained free to all Spotify users and its video episodes were carried in the Spotify app. On 2 February 2024 Spotify announced a new multiyear partnership and said the show would “soon be available on additional platforms,” ending the exclusivity. Spotify states that the show has ranked as its Wrapped top podcast every year since 2020.
Sourcing Note
Two claims previously on this page are removed. The “$200 million” value often attached to the 2020 Spotify deal appears in neither Spotify announcement, and no primary source for it could be fetched. The audience figure of “11+ million listeners per episode” is likewise unsourced: Spotify publishes ranking statements, not per-episode listener counts. A paragraph characterizing the podcast’s role in pandemic misinformation debates has also been removed — it named no specific claim, episode or fact-checker.
