Google is the largest business of Alphabet Inc., a Delaware corporation listed on Nasdaq as GOOGL and GOOG. Alphabet’s Form 10-K for the year ended 31 December 2025 states that it reports Google in two segments — Google Services and Google Cloud — with non-Google businesses grouped as Other Bets.

What Google Services contains

Alphabet lists Google Services as including “ads, Android, Chrome, devices, Google Maps, Google Play, Search, and YouTube,” and states that the segment “generates revenues primarily from advertising,” alongside consumer subscriptions such as YouTube TV, YouTube Music and Premium, NFL Sunday Ticket and Google One, plus app sales and devices.

Relevance to digital political discourse

Four of the products in that single segment sit directly on the path political information takes online: Search, which ranks it; YouTube, which hosts and recommends it; the advertising business, which sells placement against it; and Android and Chrome, which are the operating system and browser through which much of it is consumed. Google’s own political advertising transparency report publishes a searchable archive of election ads run on its platforms, with advertiser identity and spending — a public record of one part of that system.
