Stavros Halkias

Stavros Halkias is an American stand-up comedian and podcaster. He was one of the hosts of the comedy podcast Cum Town from its earliest surviving episodes in 2016, and since December 2022 has hosted Stavvy’s World, a weekly guest-and-listener-call show. He tours as a stand-up comedian and has appeared in film and television.

The Library of Congress name authority file records his birth as 11 February 1989 in Baltimore, Maryland, and describes him as an actor and writer.

Cum Town

The Cum Town feed — a single continuous feed that later became The Adam Friedland Show’s — retains episodes back to “Ep. 3 – The Sleepy Boys” of 25 May 2016, whose notes refer to guest Dan Soder considering “both me and Stav” contemporaries. Halkias is named in the show’s episode notes through its early years alongside Nick Mullen and Adam Friedland.

The feed does not record his departure. The first episode in it recorded without him is “Ep. 309 – can u smell it” of 27 April 2022, billed as a “special episode with stav replacement”; no episode is identified as his last and no date is announced. The same feed labels the episode of 27 October 2022 “THE LAST AUDIO ONLY / PODCAST EPISODE”; the show continued from that point as The Adam Friedland Show, without Halkias.

Stavvy’s World

Halkias launched his own podcast at the end of 2022. A teaser posted to the feed on 1 December 2022 announced “my new pod” as “part advice show, part interview show, part just having a good time with your pals”, with a listener voicemail line; the first full episode, with Sam Morril, followed on 5 December 2022. The show has published continuously since, on a pattern of a Monday guest episode and a Thursday bonus preview, reaching “#196 - Nick Mullen” on 31 August 2026 with 394 items in the feed.

The show is listener-funded in the same manner as its predecessor. Its Patreon campaign was created on 4 December 2022 and published on 15 December 2022, and offers four Patreon-only episodes a month; on 1 September 2026 it held 813 posts. Patreon does not expose the campaign’s patron count or monthly total, so no subscription figure is given here. The public feed is separately marketed as available ad-free through SiriusXM Podcasts+, and carries a SiriusXM copyright line.

Endorsement of Zohran Mamdani

On 22 June 2025, two days before the New York City Democratic mayoral primary, Halkias posted a video endorsing Zohran Mamdani. The post itself is on Instagram and could not be retrieved directly; what is available is a reupload published the following day by a third-party YouTube channel, which quotes the caption in full: “Vote for @zohrankmamdani on Tuesday!!! DO NOT RANK CUOMO”, followed by a statement that he had driven four and a half hours to cast the vote and a list of the positions he was endorsing — freezing the rent, universal childcare, free city buses, lower grocery costs and a higher minimum wage. He also asked viewers not to rank Andrew Cuomo, a reference to the ranked-choice ballot used in the primary.

On 5 November 2025, the day after the general election, The Majority Report published a clip from its programme titled “Stavros Explains Why Zohran’s Policies Are So Attractive”, crediting his podcast.

This is the extent of the documented political activity located for him. It is a single primary endorsement and a subsequent appearance on a political programme, both in the same 2025 New York City mayoral race.

Stand-up and Screen Work

Halkias tours as a stand-up comedian; his own site is organised around a tour calendar and lists dated club and festival engagements. He runs the YouTube channel @StavvyBaby, whose declared keywords are “stand up comedy” and “crowdwork comedy”. On 1 September 2026 the channel’s description read: “Uncle Stav premieres on Sept 8th only on Netflix! Check out the @stavvysworld podcast! Watch Tires!” He appears in the film “Let’s Start a Cult”, whose Apple TV catalogue entry lists him first among the cast.

What Is Not Established Here

What the page said before. The previous version consisted of one paragraph asserting that Cum Town “blended comedy with political commentary and became associated with the Dirtbag Left movement”. Neither half was attributed to anyone. The podcast’s own feed and subscription page describe a comedy show and nothing else, and no source located in this pass characterises it politically or ties Halkias to any named movement. Both claims are removed rather than restated. The stray statement that the podcast “launched in 2016” is kept, but only as far as the feed supports it — the earliest retained episode is from May 2016 and is already numbered 3.

Relevance to this site. Unlike the parallel nick-mullen page, which this audit’s sibling reduced to a funding fact because no political action could be documented, Halkias does have one: a dated, quoted endorsement in a contested mayoral primary, followed by an appearance on a political programme about the same race. That is a thin but real basis for the page. Everything else here is a comedy career, and the page should not be read as establishing a political role beyond those two 2025 events.

Sourcing gap on the endorsement. Instagram does not serve automated clients, and the Wayback capture of the reel returns a login interstitial rather than the post, so the endorsement rests on a third-party reupload that quotes the caption. The reupload’s own date, channel and text were verified; the original was not. This is disclosed rather than smoothed over.

Removed for want of a source. The date of his departure from Cum Town, commonly given as June 2022 — the feed shows him already replaced in April 2022 and never announces a departure, so no date is asserted. The account of an early career in Baltimore and Washington, a 2012 local comedian award, attendance at UMBC, and writing credits for Adult Swim, IFC and MSG Network. The 2020 Twitch series said to have preceded Stavvy’s World. The stand-up specials “Live at the Lodge Room” (2022), “Fat Rascal” (2023) and “Four Nights In NYC” (2023), and the claim that the first reached two million views in three weeks: the YouTube channel’s video listing is lazy-loaded and could not be enumerated, and no distributor page for the Netflix special was retrievable. His roles in “Tires”, “Sweethearts”, “Bugonia” and “Tony” are likewise not asserted; the only screen credit sourced here is the one his own site links to a catalogue page. His reported refusal to perform at the 2025 Riyadh Comedy Festival, for which no source was found. Follower and subscriber counts on every platform — YouTube renders rounded, localised figures, Patreon exposes none, and Instagram and X do not respond at all.

Not verified. The word “founding” as applied to his role on Cum Town. The feed’s earliest surviving episode is already the third, so it can establish that he was there from the start of the record but not that he was there at the start of the show.
